Four-star WR visiting this weekend

On Saturday, this four-star wide receiver from Florida will visit Clemson for the Tigers' first Junior Day of the year.

Artavis Scott will be joined by East Lake High School [Tarpon Springs] teammate Mason Cole, a four-star offensive tackle. The 2014 duo could be joined by 2015 wide reciever George Campbell.

Scott, who picked up an offer from Clemson last week, recently spoke with CUTigers.

"I saw one of the coaches at my school. After he left, my coach was like, they had offered me," Scott said.

The No. 15 wide receiver in the class of 2014 thought he would get an offer from Clemson, just not so soon.

"I expected it when we go up there…for the Junior Day, February the second. I was probably going to expect it then," he said.

Scott added, "I was excited to get it."

Saturday will be his first trip to Clemson.

"I want to go see that field, no doubt. I want to walk down that little hill. And see if it feels like home. I just want to meet all the coaches and see how I like it there," he said.

For now, the Clemson trip is the only one on his schedule this spring.

With an offer sheet that includes Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina and West Virginia, Scott has no favorites.

"I'm wide open, right now," he said.

Scott also has no timeline to break things down, but he will be considering several factors as he moves through the process.

"Basically, great academics," he said. "Is it a good fit for me? Do I like it? Does it feel like home?"

As a junior, Scott caught 64 passes for 995 yards and 10 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 14 tackles, a sack and a pass breakup. Scott also finished with five punt returns for 106 yards.
