Mom's key in Lane's decision

Ermon Lane is one of the top 2014 prospect in the sunshine state and he's got plenty of big-time programs after him.

Clemson and Georgia are the latest on the growing list of the Homestead (Homestead, FL) wide receiver. Lane said he has no favorites right now, but he hopes to see several schools this summer.

Lane now has offers from Alabama, LSU, Miami, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, SMU, and the newest two, Clemson and Georgia. Lane said there are things he likes about the Tigers and the Bulldogs.

"Clemson, they throw the ball and they have good academics," he said.

"Georgia, the same, SEC football, competition."

The junior wide receiver has no favorites yet but says the Crimson Tide are coming after him hard right now.

"Alabama, they want me the most," he said.

"It's a good school, they won a national championship three years out of the last four so there's not much to say."

At this point, Lane has no plans to go to any junior days but he hopes to visit Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State this summer. His mom will travel with him and he said she'll be a big help in making his college decision.

"Good academics, that's what my momma's focused on really hard, a school with good academics," he said.

"She talks to the U and Alabama (the most)."

The 6-foot-2, 193-pound athlete finished his junior season with 36 catches for 912 years and 11 touchdowns. He plans to use this spring working on his route running. Top Stories
