The commitment: ATH D.J. Greenlee, Daniel HS
Date committed: Feb. 1, 2012
Ranked: Three-star, No. 104 OLB
Other options: Maryland, Tennessee
Position status: Greenlee could play two different positions at Clemson. But he's likely to begin his career as an outside linebacker. Greenlee could also play the 3-back [tight end] position while in Tigertown. That's probably the position he's best suited to play.
The evaluation: Greenlee certainly has the body to play at the college level. At 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, possesses the frame to add plenty of good weight, possibly another 20-30 pounds before it's all said and done. Will enter Clemson with a chip on his shoulder. Greenlee is very well aware of the negative things folks have said about him since picking up the Tigers' offer.
Estimated impact: 2015. Greenlee will take a redshirt when he arrives to campus for 2013. He's already acknowledged that's the plan that has been put into place. After another year of development, the 2015 season could be the first he'll be in position to make contributions as a special teams player.
