Last season was a great one for the Concord.
Sophomore running back Rocky Reid played a huge role in the Spiders' success.
"I've heard from Clemson, Wake Forest, Virginia, and N.C. State," said Reid. "I'm still waiting on my first offer, though."
He grew up following one of those schools.
"I was a Wake Forest fan growing up," Reid said. "My Uncle, Kenny Moore, played there."
Reid made one college visit last fall and enjoyed the trip.
"I went down to Clemson to see them play Georgia Tech," he said. "They told me to keep working hard on and off the field and that they would keep looking at me."
"The trip was amazing – there was a great vibe down there," he said. "The fans were great and it was just a great experience. It's just a great place."
Next up, the Concord standout will likely attend several camps.
"I'll probably go to some of the same camps as last year – Clemson, South Carolina, Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, N.C. State, Winston Salem State, and Elon," said Reid.
He would also like to go to a few games this fall.
"I really want to go to games at North Carolina, Wake Forest, Duke, and Virginia," he said.
For now, he is focused on getting better.
"I'm just going work on getting stronger, faster, and making better cuts," he said. "I just want us to have a great season next year and get a (state championship) ring."
Reid finished last season with 1,590 yards rushing and 17 total touchdowns.
