S Allen Artis Profile

Defensive coordinator Brent Venables sent the offer to Artis in late February.

Venables and defensive backs coach Mike Reed spoke with Artis while he was on campus over the weekend.

"They said they really liked me and they could see me playing nickel back or some free [safety], too. They want me to get back up there again some time soon," Artis told CUTigers.

What stood out about the visit?

"The atmosphere and the community and the town."

And the football facilities "were really nice."

Artis has visited North Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest this spring. He hopes to return to Clemson later this spring.

The Wheeler High School [Marietta, Ga.] prospect is sitting on 13 offers. Among the schools to offer are Auburn, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee.

As a junior, he had 140 tackles and three interceptions. Top Stories
