DT Lamont Gaillard Profile
The No. 18 ranked defensive tackle in the class of 2014 was told that he would hear on Monday whether or not the Tigers were going to offer.
Pine Forest High School [Fayetteville, N.C.] head coach Bill Sochovka delivered the news.
"My coach called and said that they offered," Gaillard told CUTigers on Monday night.
"That was one that I was looking for, so it was pretty big."
It was an offer he wanted for a number of different reasons.
"In the past, they just stood out to me, not just that. It was the coaches, when I went there…and I liked it a lot," he said.
"They were doing hitting drills and that got me excited. The intensity was high and I liked talking to the coaches."
Gaillard spoke with defensive coordinator Brent Venables on Monday night.
Alabama, East Carolina, Florida State, Georgia, North Carolina, North Carolina State, and South Carolina have also offered.
Florida will host him this weekend. He'll trip to Alabama, Georgia, and Florida State in the coming months.
Last season, he had 108 tackles, seven tackles for loss and four sacks.
