Third-time's a charm?

Twice this season, Clemson and Florida State have battled on the hardwood. Twice this season, the Seminoles have narrowly escaped with wins.

WHAT: Clemson vs. Florida State
WHERE: Greensboro Coliseum - Greensboro, N.C.
WHEN: Thursday, March 14 (9 p.m.)
SPREAD: Clemson +2
TV: ESPNU (Dan Shulman, Sean Farnham and Jeannine Edwards)

They'll meet again on Thursday at 9 p.m. in the first-round of ACC Tournament.

"Them beating us kind of leaves a nasty taste in my mouth," said Devin Booker, who was voted third-team All-ACC earlier this week. "I'm not sure about the other guys, but I really want to get this win. I'm pretty sure they're the same way."

Florida State and Clemson opened ACC play on Jan. 5 as the Seminoles escaping Littlejohn Coliseum with a 71-66 win. Less than three weeks later, a Michael Snaer 3-point buzzer-beater dropped the Tigers 60-57.

Clemson [13-17, 5-13 ACC] enter ACC Tournament play as the 11th seed while Florida State [17-14, 9-9 ACC] is seeded in the sixth spot. Thursday night's winner will advance to play North Carolina on Friday.

Brad Brownell and company have gone 3-9 since the second loss to the Seminoles.

"Florida State is certainly playing really well, having won three of four. Two really good wins last week against Virginia and N.C. State, two tournament teams," Brownell said. "Having said that -- we had two good games with them -- we probably should have won the game down at their place, but couldn't quite get it done."

Booker hopes the Tigers are able to come away with a win. Otherwise, his college career is finished.

"I'm going to try to give it all I have. I'm pretty sure my teammates are going to leave it all out on the court, too, just because they don't want that to be our last game," he said. "Hopefully, we can get a couple of wins and bring home the title."

A positive mindset, Booker noted, will help Clemson make a run in Greensboro.

"No one is looking for us to win any games in the tournament. Just being able to go out there and prove people wrong, it's going to be pretty good," he said.
