The Nike Football Training Camp returns to Charlotte in 2013 and they will be back at Hough High School. Multiple states will be represented and Scout previews some of the best on the defensive side of the ball.
The defensive line will be a strong group in Charlotte and three of the best there are members of the 2015 class.
Shy Tuttle is a sophomore defensive tackle out of North Davidson (N.C.). He has already been offered by schools like Alabama, Clemson, Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio State among others. He is on track to be a national prospect.
A couple others in the 2015 class that already have big offers are Darian Roseboro and Albert Huggins. Roseboro is a big defensive end out of Lincolnton (N.C.) and Huggins is an explosive defensive lineman out of Orangeburg Wilkinson (S.C.). Both have offers from multiple programs.
Poona Ford will travel up to North Carolina from Hilton Head (S.C.) to compete a week after competing at the Orlando NFTC. He put on a show there and the strong interior defensive lineman that is a member of the Scout 300 could do the same here. He is currently at 19 scholarship offers.
Another South Carolina prospect is Naquez Pringle and he is ready to show off his strength Sunday. Clemson and South Carolina has offered this Carver's Bay product. Coming down from Illinois is Enoch Smith Jr. He is a three-star on Scout and he has a nice list of offers entering this weekend.
This could be a solid position in Charlotte and it is very strong at the top. Three of the premier linebackers in the 2014 class will be in attendance and all three have some of the best offer lists in the southeast.
Heading this trio is Raekwon McMillan, a Scout 100 prospect out of Liberty County (Ga.). Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State are three schools he has high interest in right now. All have offered and he has offers from over 30 programs.
The top linebacker in South Carolina is Christian Miller and he has already committed to Florida. The long and rangy linebacker loves to rush the passer and he is good in space.
Chris Register is a big 6-foot-4, 220 pound linebacker out of Dudley (N.C.) and he has the ability to play any linebacker position or possibly rush end on the next level. Around a dozen schools have offered this Scout 300 backer.
You can expect a lot of athletes to be out on the filed this weekend and many of the top rated guys will be playing wide receiver, so who will look to stop those guys?
Jordan Brown and Grant Haley are two quick athletes who could shine this weekend. Brown is out of Davidson Day School (N.C.) and he has already been offered by Duke. Haley will travel up from Georgia and the Lovett star has been offered by Florida. Both are versatile athletes that play all over the field in high school.
At safety, Kalen McCain leads the way. He is one of many high profile prospects out of Hillside (N.C.) and schools like Georgia Tech, Louisville, North Carolina State, and Virginia Tech are targeting him.
M.J. Stewart is a three-star safety on Scout out of Yorktown (Va.) and he has offers from Duke, Maryland, North Carolina, and Wake Forest among others.
