The Cincinnati standout visited with Colerian High School teammate Tegray Scales.

Clemson offered Brown when he got home later that night.

"They told me to call them later on [Friday] night, because they didn't offer me there. My dad just called coach [Marion] Hobby and they just offered," Brown told CUTigers on Friday night.

He added, "It's an offer from a good school. I was at the game when they played LSU. They have a good team."

The trip to Clemson was a good one, too.

"I liked everything that was going on. We got to see the new indoor facility. We hung out with the coaches," Brown said.

What was the message from the coaches?

"They were just telling me they like my highlights. They said they liked both our highlights."

At Clemson, he would play either defensive end or offensive tackle.

"I talked with the coaches for about 10 or 15 minutes [while visiting], then went into the head coach's office and we talked for a while," Brown said.

What was Dabo Swinney's message?

"He was just talking to me about football things. He was talking about running a race to win."

"He said he's not going to pressure me into committing or anything. But, when I am ready to commit, we'd have to sit down and talk, to make sure I'm serious about it."

Brown liked several things about Clemson.

"They're in the top 10 in academics and football. I really liked the coaching staff," he said.

There are no favorites, but he will consider several factors while going through the process.

"Academics and coaching staff, how they coach the players, and how I get along with them," Brown said. Top Stories
