‘It was awesome'

By the time Tyler Queen is a senior at North Cobb High School, he'll be one of the top-rated quarterbacks in the Southeast.

On Thursday, he made his first trip to Clemson.

While in town, Queen was able to speak with head coach Dabo Swinney and offensive coordinator Chad Morris.

"It was awesome. I got to get a tour of the campus and then talk with coach Morris and coach Swinney, all of those guys. It was a great experience for me," Queen told CUTigers on Thursday night.

There was plenty that stood out to the 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect.

"They have a great campus. Practice was awesome. They have a great program. It was just a great time being up there. I enjoyed it," he said.

What was the message from Swinney and Morris?

"They said they were going to come and watch me during the spring. They definitely want to get me to camp.

"It was just a neat experience to talk with [Morris] and see practice with those guys."

The Tigers' offense reminded Queen of what he operates back home in Kennesaw, Ga.

"I like how they run the same kind of style offense, which is what we do," he said. "Their practice is at a very high tempo, which is what we try to do at our high school. It's just a system that fits me really well, because it's all the same stuff we do.

"I just feel like I would be right at home there."

As a sophomore, Queen threw for 2,607 yards with 23 touchdowns. He also rushed for 925 yards and 20 scores.
