Thompson brings mom to Clemson

Four-star wide receiver Trevion Thompson was in Clemson on Saturday for the Orange and White spring game. He was accompanied by his mother.

It was her first visit to Clemson.

"She liked it," Thompson told CUTigers on Sunday. "She wants to go back. She liked the atmosphere and the academic program."

What stood out to the No. 4 wide receiver in the class of 2014?

"I've been down there before -- pretty much the consistency of the coaches."

By that, Thompson meant the message he received from Dabo Swinney, Chad Morris and Jeff Scott.

"[Scott] pretty much said that they would get me the ball," Thompson said. "They don't recruit many players like me. He wants me to come in and start as a true freshman, and be one of those franchise players."

And the message from Morris?

"Pretty much, he was telling me the same thing as coach Scott."

Aside from the Clemson visit, Thompson made a trip up to Ohio State earlier this spring. For the meantime, he has no other plans to hit the road.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound prospect has no list of favorites. And he's in no hurry to make a decision.

"I want to say close to signing day," he said, when asked about a timeline for his decision.

As a junior, Thompson caught over 40 passes for 700 yards and scored seven touchdowns. Top Stories
