Commitment capsule: Baker

Up next in our commitment capsule series is one-time Florida State pledge Adrian Baker, a three-star cornerback from Hollywood, Fla.

The commitment: Adrian Baker, Chaminade Madonna [Hollywood, Fla.]

Date committed: Feb. 6, 2013

Ranked: Three-star, No. 66 CB

Other options: Florida State, Oklahoma, Louisville, Nebraska, USF, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Wisconsin

Position status: When Baker gets to campus later this summer he'll join a cornerback group that is short on numbers. Currently, the only scholarship cornerbacks on the Clemson roster are Bashaud Breeland, Darius Robinson, Garry Peters and Martin Jenkins. That's why Baker was one of several cornerback signees this past February. Mackensie Alexander and Marcus Edmond will also enroll at Clemson later this summer. Cordrea Tankersley and Ryan Carter may also play cornerback for the Tigers.

The evaluation: Baker played on both sides of the ball at Chaminade Madonna High. He played both cornerback and safety and will likely up end up playing corner in college. He has quick feet, especially for his size, and uses his length to his advantage - Mike Bakas, Scout.com

Estimated impact: 2014. Even if Baker does not redshirt this fall, he may not play enough meaningful snaps to warrant consideration as an impactful player. Assuming things play out that way, Baker is looking at his first impact season in 2014.
