Clemson offers Florida QB

Earlier this month, Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables delivered the news of an offer to this 2015 quarterback from the Miami area.

The recipient of the offer was American Heritage High School sophomore Torrance Gibson.

"My coach told me to call them, the defensive coordinator. Then, he offered me a scholarship," Gibson recently told CUTigers.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound prospect likes what the Tigers have to offer.

"It was a blessing. Clemson is one of the top schools in the country right now. It was a great feeling," he said.

Gibson is still learning about Clemson, but is familiar with what they do on the offensive side of the ball.

"I know they run a spread offense. That's all I know about them right now," he said.

Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Boston College have also offered.

Though he currently lists no favorites, several factors will be considered.

"First, academics, then, the campus life at the school, and the coaches," Gibson said.
