Venables offers Florida CB

Earlier this spring, Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables sent an offer to one of the top 2015 cornerbacks in the country.

The offer went to American Heritage School [Plantation] sophomore Tavarus McFadden.

"I talked to coach V, the defensive coordinator. He was just like that he was going to be down here [during the evaluation period]. He liked my size, wants me to come visit their facilities in the summer," McFadden told CUTigers in a recent interview.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect also has offers from Florida State, LSU, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, South Carolina and Boston College.

He's still learning about Clemson.

"I don't really know too much about them right now. I know they beat LSU in their bowl game last year," McFadden said. "I have a little bit of research to do."

This spring, McFadden took a visit to Miami for junior day. So far, that's the only school he's visited.

He'll hit the road this summer.

"I was supposed to go to Notre Dame's spring game, but as of right now, I'm not going anywhere," McFadden said.

Only a sophomore, he still has time to get out and see what his options are. Several factors will be considered as he moves further into the recruiting process.

"Academics, the coaching and team atmosphere, how the players get along. The area that it's in. Most of those are the main factors I'm looking at for a school," McFadden said.

As a sophomore, McFadden had 25 tackles, an interception and he scored four touchdowns. Top Stories
