Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables recently offered a pair of prospects from Timber Creek High School in New Jersey.

Adonis Jennings, a 2014 wide receiver, and Kareem Ali, a 2015 cornerback, picked up offers from Clemson last Monday.

"My teammate Adonis Jennings called me when I was asleep. He was like, ‘Yo, yo, I just got off the phone with coach V, call him.' He sounded really enthusiastic about it, so I called coach V.

"We were talking for a while and he told me that I had one of the best tapes he'd seen of a sophomore and he offered me. It hit me and I was really excited about it," Ali said in an interview with CUTigers last week.

Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Temple have also offered Ali, who will visit Clemson in June for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp. Jennings will be there, too.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound sophomore is familiar with the Clemson program.

"They've got one of the strongest offenses around. They put plenty of people in the league every year. They're one of the best teams in the ACC," he said.

His visit in June won't be trip No. 1 to Clemson.

"I used to live in Clemson when I was two…I've been down there a few times," Ali said. "I haven't been down there anytime recently, but I've been down there a lot, and I used to live down there."

He added, "I just want to see the campus, see how the city of Clemson is [and] see how South Carolina is. I'm pretty sure I like it down south. That's where my family is originally is from. I just want to see the facilities, see the stadium, see the town, see the campus itself."

For now, Clemson is the only school that Ali and Jennings plan to visit this summer.

As a sophomore, Ali had 63 tackles, two interceptions, nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a touchdown.
