David Sharpe, a four-star junior offensive tackle from Jacksonville, took his first visit to Clemson over the weekend.

The 6-foot-7, 280-pound prospect arrived on Friday and stuck around until Saturday afternoon.

"I had a great time. I really enjoyed it," Sharpe told CUTigers.

What went down?

"I just toured the campus, met some of the coaches. That was pretty much it."

Sharpe picked up his Clemson offer earlier this month when Jeff Scott stopped by Providence High School.

There had been some prior contact, so Sharpe wasn't caught off guard when he was informed of the offer.

"They told me they were interested, but they wanted to see me. That's what they told me," he said.

Several things stick out about Clemson.

"I like the environment. They have very nice facilities. The coaches are down to earth, great guys. It just felt like home," he said.

This spring, Sharpe has also visited Florida and Florida State. He stopped by Georgia after the two-day Clemson stay.

The No. 16 offensive tackle in the class of 2014 has several big-time offers, including Alabama, the Florida schools, Georgia, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

Sharpe doesn't have any favorites -- he doesn't plan on making that kind of a decision until the summer.

Several factors will be considered.

"Just somewhere I'm comfortable and a place I can play early, where I fit in at, great coaches -- I want to have a great relationship for the four years that I'm there," he said.
