A three-star cornerback at Summerville High School, Smalls said in March that South Carolina, Clemson and Florida State are his favorites, in order.

"That still stands," he told CUTigers over the weekend.

Smalls holds offers from a number of schools from across the country, including the instate programs, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech.

What is it that stands out about his three favorites?

"About all three schools, I just love the way they play ball and the way the fans are behind them 110 percent."

Earlier this month, Smalls was on the Clemson campus, but did not meet with any of the coaches.

"I actually was there for the Clemson graduation, so I just saw the campus," he said.

Smalls would like to visit Oklahoma and Tennessee this summer.

As a junior, Smalls had 58 tackles [45 solos], over 600 return yards, three touchdown returns, five interceptions and 12 pass breakups.

During his sophomore season, he had 60 tackles, six interceptions and 21 pass breakups. Top Stories
