Choice committed to Dabo Swinney earlier this afternoon.

"I got off the phone with him around 3:15," Choice said.

What was Swinney's reaction?

"He was excited. He was pumped up about it. We talked about commitment and what it means to him and what it means to me...he said he was excited and he couldn't wait to get me on campus again."

During an interview over the weekend, he told CUTigers that Clemson and Auburn were his leaders.

"I really like their support system, the way everything is," Choice said.

He added, "I like the town. It's -- I can't say it's based on the football team, but within the school, it just seems like it's that close-knit. It just doesn't get much better than that."

On Wednesday, he explained why Clemson won his commitment.

"When I went up there, I really liked it. But, at the same time, but I wasn't really sure with my family," Choice said. "My mom's seen it, but my dad hasn't -- we're going up there soon.

"We talked as a family last night. What my mom was telling my dad and what we were telling him, he was really excited about it, too."

Choice added, "I mean, it's a great place to be."

There were a few specifics that attracted him to Clemson.

"The togetherness of the team. I enjoyed talking with the coaches, talking with the players and all they said about it," Choice said. "There is nothing bad at all to say about it. I really enjoyed it when I went up there...I was really impressed with their program, their campus and everything."

Choice, who plays quarterback for Thomas County, rushed for 1,650 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior.
