MLB Korie Rogers Profile
The Buford High School prospect picked Clemson over offers from Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee.
"Just Clemson being a great fit for me. All around, the football, the small town, I just feel like it was the place for me to be. It's where I fit in the most," Rogers told CUTigers on Wednesday night.
Ranked as the No. 11 middle linebacker in the class of 2014, Rogers planned to commit before he arrived to town. It's something he'd been ready to do for close to two weeks.
Rogers delivered the news while meeting with Dabo Swinney, Brent Venables and Tony Elliott.
"They were ecstatic," Rogers said. "They were hype. They were excited."
There was more to the visit than the commitment.
"It was my real family's first-time being down here," Rogers said. "I took them on a little tour of the campus, went to Vickery Hall, which is the academic center, to learn about academics. We went to the football facilities. I took my little brother to the hill, watched a couple of videos, then had the meeting with the coaches."
Rogers is the first defensive player to join the Tigers' 2014 haul.
"It feels great. Clemson is an unbelievable football town, an unbelievable atmosphere. I just feel great to be a part of it and extremely blessed," he said.
