Octavis Johnson, a rising junior at Clinch County High School in Homerville, Ga., was surprised by the Clemson offer.

"It was real happy that I got a chance to get offered by one of the best programs in the ACC," he told CUTigers.

The 6-foot, 190-pound prospect know nothing about Clemson before the offer. That changed after his one-day camp stop.

"They want to win. You've got to work real hard there," Johnson said.

He was impressed by Clemson's facilities.

"They had a nice football facility. The indoor, the weight room and the locker rooms. That was my favorite part, the locker room," Johnson said.

After his Clemson camp visit, Johnson went to the Florida camp and the Gators' coaches offered while he was in town.

"I liked their weight room and their whole facility, the stadium, and all of the players that play there," he said.

In four games at cornerback, Johnson had 28 tackles and 15 pass breakups. He spent the first part of last season at running back.
