In addition to the Tigertown visit, DeBerry has already been to Georgia, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, UNC, Penn State, Kentucky, Michigan and Michigan State this summer.

DeBerry would like to visit Tennessee and Vanderbilt later this summer. He also hopes make trips to Ohio State, West Virginia and another one back to Virginia.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound prospect from St. Christopher's School in Richmond, Va. spoke with CUTigers on Sunday night about his Saturday afternoon in Clemson.

"It was wonderful. Coach [Brent] Venables showed me around the campus. I really enjoyed myself. Clemson is a beautiful place. He showed me around the lake. He showed me how peaceful the campus was," DeBerry said.

What stood out?

"It was great, real peaceful, very beautiful…you can see the Blue Ridge Mountains. You go around the campus, see the paws on the road. The campus is beautiful. I like it a lot."

And what was Venables' message?

"He just gave me some background on the guys that he's coached. Not all of the guys were five-star and four-star guys. They weren't all recruited by big schools. But the way he coached them and turned them in to great players and got them into the NFL.

"His scheme and defense is very successful. He's a good coach. I'm really looking forward to watching them this upcoming season."

The Tigers are very appealing to DeBerry, even though he's not ready to name any favorites.

"Clemson is an ACC team that could be in the SEC. I really look forward to seeing how that defense can be in the next couple of years," he said.
