Bruising back camps at Clemson

Over the last couple of recruiting cycles, Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris has zeroed in on big, powerful running backs.

On the Clemson radar is Southern Guilford High School [Greensboro, N.C.] rising junior Reggie Gallaspy.

The 6-foot, 215-pound prospect camped in Tigertown for the first session of the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

"The camp was pretty decent. The coaching staff and everything was pretty good. I like the tradition and everything they have there. They showed us a video of the school and The Rock. I was very interested in everything," Gallaspy recently told CUTigers.

Running backs coach Tony Elliott kept a close eye on the 2015 prospect.

"He's a very good running backs coach, very enthusiastic with his drills and everything. If you messed up, you go back and do it again…he's very inclusive in everything he does," Gallaspy said. "And he's a real down-to-earth coach."

Duke, East Carolina, UNC, N.C. state, Virginia and Wake Forest have offered. Gallaspy believes Clemson could jump into the mix, too.

"I talked to my recruiting coach, coach [Robbie] Caldwell. He told me that coach Elliott was very excited with me coming in and everything…I have a feeling I have an offer coming from that way," Gallaspy said.

As a sophomore, he rushed for 1,757 yards and 20 touchdowns.
