Scott announces Clemson pledge

During Tuesday night's telecast of The Opening on ESPNU, four-star wide receiver Artavis Scott announced that he is committed to Clemson.

Scott, a rising senior at East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs, Fla., is ranked by Scout.com as the No. 23 wide receiver in the country.

The 6-foot, 175-pound prospect committed to Clemson over Florida and UCF. Michigan, Florida State and Ohio State are among the schools that also offered.

"I like them ever since I went there. I think it was a good spot for me. I think I fit there better," Scott said on ESPNU.

In June, Scott visited Clemson for the second session of the Dabo Swinney Football Camp. Scott also visited Clemson in February for Junior Day.

As a junior, Scott caught 64 passes for 995 yards and 10 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 14 tackles, a sack and a pass breakup. Scott also finished with five punt returns for 106 yards.

As a sophomore, he had 54 receptions for 1,158 yards.
