Many prospects at The Opening are committed to a school, but not all sound as solid to their school as Chris Register.
The Scout 300 linebacker out of Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley is as solid as they come when talking seven plus months before signing day.
"I am 100-percent to Clemson and I am only focused on my high school team. I still get letters from schools like Florida State and North Carolina State, but I am not looking around. I am only looking at Clemson," Register told Scout.
The four-star linebacker chose the Tigers for multiple reasons.
"The people, the area, the environment, and just how they recruited me helped me choose them. I just liked everything about Clemson and it was a pretty easy decision."
Register checked in this week at just under 6-feet, 3-inches tall and he is weighing 230 pound. That combined with his athleticism could make him versatile on the next level.
"I could play any of the three linebacker positions at Clemson the coaches are telling me. They want to rush me off the edge, move me around, and I like that. I just want to get on the field, so I am willing to play anywhere."
Register is working hard for a big senior season and that is what he is focused on, but he cannot help but to think ahad to what it is going to be like playing at Clemson University.
"Oh yeah, I am excited about it," he said about his future. "I love the coaches and I cannot wait to get there to play in front of the Clemson fans."
