CUTigers' Top 25 in '13: No. 17

Two defensive backs have already been listed on CUTigers' list of the top 25 players on Clemson's roster in 2013.

CUTigers continues the list of the 25 players we think will have the most productive seasons in 2013.

No. 17

CB Bashaud Breeland, Redshirt Junior
After a solid first season on the field, it appeared that Breeland was on his way to making himself a candidate for All-ACC honors in 2012. Injuries would curb any possibility of that.

The Resume

Breeland registered 53 tackles, one tackle for loss, two interceptions and four pass breakups over 643 snaps in 14 games [seven starts] during his redshirt freshman campaign.

After suffering a groin injury against Virginia Tech, Breeland saw a sharp decline in playing time in 2012. He logged 369 snaps last season, but played just 52 in the final six games of the season, three of which he didn't even play.

Over 10 games [five starts], Breeland had 29 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack and three pass breakups.

Moving Forward

Still on the mend, Breeland missed time during spring practice. Though he was dressed, Breeland didn't even participate in the annual Orange and White spring game.

Breeland exited the spring listed as a co-starter with Garry Peters. When healthy, Breeland is one of the best cornerbacks on the entire Clemson roster, if not the best.

18. Ryan Norton
19. Corey Crawford
20. Mackensie Alexander
21. Robert Smith
22. Jordan Leggett
23. Quandon Christian
