Wallace joins CUTigers staff

Long time Clemson beat writer Greg Wallace will now contribute on CUTigers.

Just in time for the beginning of preseason camp, CUTigers is pleased to announce the addition of Greg Wallace to its staff.

Wallace, who has covered Clemson sports for the last seven years for the Orange & White, will contribute features and columns to CUTigers throughout the upcoming football season.

"It was important for us to increase our coverage this year," CUTigers publisher Roy Philpott said. "Clemson has won 21 games the last two seasons and excitement is at an all-time high. Greg brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to CUTigers.

"He's a strong writer who understands the Clemson fan base. That was important in making a hire like this."

Wallace, who will begin work with CUTigers this month, is a graduate of the University of Iowa and has worked covering Alabama athletics for the Birmingham Post-Herald as well.

He's also served on the national board of directors for the Football Writers Association of America, helping select All-America and freshman All-America squads.

He joins publisher Roy Philpott, beat writer Hale McGranahan as well as contributor Daniel Shirley, the sports editor for the Macon Telegraph, on the CUTigers staff.

CUTigers is part of the Scout.com/Fox Sports network and covers Clemson University sports, with an emphasis on football, basketball, baseball and recruiting.
