SF Marcus Sheffield Profile
The recipient of that Clemson offer was Marcus Sheffield, a 2015 small forward from Alpharetta, Ga.
His father gave him the good news.
"I was hoping [for the offer], but I wasn't really sure. I was just really excited," Sheffield told CUTigers on Sunday afternoon.
The three-star prospect visited Clemson earlier this summer.
"I went up for their elite camp and talked to the coaches," he said. "It was fun. The coaches are nice and the facilities were nice, too."
Sheffield said he's heard good things about Clemson from Blossomgame.
"He said it was really nice. He said he likes it, likes it a lot up there," Sheffield said.
In addition to his trip to Clemson, Sheffield also visited Maryland, Xavier and VCU this summer.
As a sophomore at Chattahoochee, he averaged 17 points and five rebounds per game.
He's running with Game Elite during the July evaluation period. Clemson watched Sheffield play over the weekend at the Peach State Showcase in Augusta, Ga.
