Clemson has landed the verbal comitment of 6-3, 263 pound defensive tackle Jabril Robinson.

Robinson, a native of North Carolina, was on campus Friday evening for the All In Cookout.

The Clemson staff offered Robinson Friday evening, and he pledged a verbal commitment on the spot. He chose the Tigers over interest from N.C. State and East Carolina.

Last season Robinson recorded 72 tackles with 20 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.

Robinson also plays offensive guard, where his specialty is lead blocking while pulling, according to InsideCarolina.com's Don Callahan.

"As a defender, he has a non-stop motor and active hands that prevent opposing O-linemen from locking onto him and ultimately allows penetration into the backfield," Callahan says.

Robinson, who has been clocked at 4.99 in the 40-yard dash, is also rated as the No. 37 prospect in North Carolina.

He is being recruited to Clemson by defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks.
