First and only offer, for now

Back during the May evaluation period, Clemson sent out an offer to this class of 2015 athlete from the Charlotte area.

Carl Tucker was told that Clemson offered right around the time that he learned that he would be transferring from Robinson [Concord] to Hough High School in Cornelius.

Tight ends coach Danny Pearman recruits the Charlotte area for the Tigers.

Tucker, who was offered as an athlete, recently spoke with CUTigers about his first and only offer.

What's been the message from Clemson since they pulled the trigger?

"They really want me there. They're ready to have me. They're excited. That's about it. They're ready for me."

Tucker thinks UNC could be next.

"They've been showing some interest in me. I just went down there for a 7-on-7 with my school," he said. "Coach Brewer just introduced me to all of the other coaches. They seemed to have an interest in me."

This summer, Tucker camped at Alabama, N.C. State, UNC and Clemson. He enjoyed working with Clemson defensive backs coach Mike Reed while in Tigertown.

"It was good. It was a good experience to be coached by their defensive coaches," Tucker said.

With just one offer to his name, he has no favorites.

"People will ask me questions like, ‘What's your favorite school?' and ‘Where do you want to go,'" Tucker said. "I can't really tell anybody anything because I don't know, because I've got one offer. I can't really say right now." Last season at Robinson, he had eight interceptions. On the offensive side of the ball, Tucker recorded 26 catches for 627 yards and seven touchdowns.
