The final offensive lineman

Four players are left on the 2013 top countdown and we're down to the final offensive lineman as Brandon Thomas checks in at No. 4.

CUTigers continues the list of the 25 players we think will have the most productive seasons in 2013.

No. 4

OL Brandon Thomas, Redshirt Senior
During his Clemson career, Thomas has played both guard and tackle. He could end up playing at least three of the five offensive line positions this season.

The Resume

A First-Team All-ACC selection by the media and a Second-Team All-ACC selection by the coaches, Thomas had 23 knockdowns in a team-high 987 snaps over 13 games [13 starts] at left tackle.

As a junior, Thomas played left guard. He had 39 knockdowns in 777 snaps over 13 games [10 starts]. He finished third on the team in knockdown blocks.

Thomas had four knockdowns in 136 snaps over 10 games as a sophomore in 2010.

Moving Forward

If Isaiah Battle is ready to take over the starting left tackle job, Thomas could move back to left guard or kick over right tackle. He's got experience at both positions, so a position change won't be that much of an issue for Thomas.

Regardless of where he plays, Clemson has an All-ACC caliber player. Also, word from the folks close to the program is that Thomas took on a serious leadership role during the summer. He and Tajh Boyd were two of the primary leaders for summer workouts.
