Five offers for Chalmers

Kaleb Chalmers is one of the top 2015 prospects in South Carolina. The Greenwood cornerback already has multiple scholarship offers.

"I have offers from Stanford, South Carolina, Clemson, North Carolina and Duke," said the Kaleb Chalmers.

"I'm hearing from Georgia pretty regularly, too. Out of all the schools, Clemson is recruiting me the hardest."

He has developed a strong relationship with one of the coaches that is recruiting him.

"I have a strong relationship with (Clemson defensive backs) coach (Mike) Reed," said the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Chalmers. "He's cool and keeps it real with me. And every time I go up there, he's not trying to recruit me. It's more of a family environment."

Stanford was the latest to offer the Greenwood star.

"I didn't really expect it, but I was glad to get the offer," Chalmers said. "I was excited about it and it shows that I'm doing well in the classroom."

Chalmers has visited all of the aforementioned schools except Stanford. He said he enjoyed each visit.

As for the fall, Chalmers already has one trip set.

"I already have one visit scheduled – Clemson's first game when they play Georgia," he said. "I'm also going to go to North Carolina, South Carolina and I might go to a game at Georgia…and maybe Duke."

Chalmers will have a bigger role this year.

"This year, I'm playing a both sides of the ball," he said. "I'll be playing receiver on offense and corner on defense."

He is looking forward to the upcoming season.

"I just want to get better with my team this fall," Chalmers said. "And get to states and win it."

"We just have to keep working hard in the weight room and keep improving on the mental aspect of the game."

Last season, Chalmers finished with 45 tackles, five interceptions and 14 pass breakups.
