Blue chip Florida WR wants to visit

It's been a little over a year since Clemson offered one of the top wide receivers in Florida's class of 2016.

Four games into his sophomore season, Keith Gavin was offered by Clemson.

"My coach told me the next day," Gavin recently told CUTigers.

"Then, during the same week, a coach came to the school. I had spoken with him and talked to them. They told me they liked how I played and all of that, so they wanted to offer me."

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound junior from Wakulla High School in Crawfordville, Fla. is still getting to know Clemson and wide receivers coach Jeff Scott, who recruits the area for the Tigers.

"I haven't been to the school. I would like to go, but I just don't know too much about them," Gavin said.

Florida State is the only college campus Gavin has visited.

In addition to Clemson and Florida State, Florida, Vanderbilt, N.C. State, South Carolina, Georgia and Maryland have offered.

He grew up pulling for the Seminoles.

"Florida State is my dream school that I always wanted to go to," Gavin said. "I'm still open to just about every school. I haven't made a decision."

A number of factors will be considered as he looks at Florida State and other schools.

"I want to get recruited as a receiver. I want to see what their quarterbacks are going to look like when I come up," Gavin said. "Most of all, I want to see what the school looks like."

As a sophomore, Gavin had close to 400 yards receiving and he scored four touchdowns. Top Stories
