Good first impression

This sophomore quarterback plays for one of the Peach State's top high school programs. He was in town for Clemson's win over Georgia.

QB Josh White Profile

Josh White visited Tigertown with senior teammate D.J. Smith, a four-star safety who's high on the Clemson wish list.

CUTigers caught up with White after the game.

"It was actually my first college game, so it was a great game to go to," he said. "I loved it. It was exciting. It was everything I hoped it would be. The offense was clicking the whole game.

"I knew they would win…it was just a great experience for me and my teammate D.J."

What stood out?

"There were a lot of fans. When they started running down the hill, I couldn't hear D.J. talking right next to me. The whole atmosphere, it was orange in the stands, everybody being so excited and pumped."

White and Smith met with the Clemson coordinators, Brent Venables and Chad Morris.

"I met coach Venables and he was really interested in me. He wants to see me play. He's going to come down and see me play one of these Fridays," White said. "I got to talk to coach Morris again. I talked to him for a really long time. He said he wants to see me play, too, so I'm really excited about that."

He'll make a few more visits later this fall.

"I know I want to go to a Mississippi State game, an Alabama game and an Auburn game," White said. "Other than that, I'm planning to go back to Clemson for the Florida State game."
