Hobby watches Williams

Clemson defensive ends coach Marion Hobby was in the Atlanta-area on Friday night to see four-star defensive end Andrew Williams.

Williams was impressive in Eagles Landing Christian Academy's 68-6 win over Hapeville Charter. He finished the night with three blocked punts, a sack and eight tackles.

"I didn't know coach Hobby was coming, it was kind of spur of the moment," Williams told CUTigers on Sunday.

A pleasant surprise nonetheless.

"That was cool," Williams said.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound prospect is in the midst of setting up a few visits of his own.

"I'm in the process of trying to get officials down," he said.

The No. 31 defensive end in the class of 2014, Williams has a few destinations in mind.

"South Carolina, Clemson, Notre Dame and a few other schools, trying to decide whether or not I should go to a school, because I've been there -- we're trying to get that figured out," Williams said.

With no list of favorites to speak of right now, a decision won't be made until he takes all five of his official visits. Those trips will play a critical part in helping Williams reach his decision.

"Just anything, it's for the last visit. For my mom and for my dad, that they make sure as well, they've been following me through this whole thing," Williams said.

He added, "As soon as I get all my visits, the officials in, anytime after that I should know."

So far this fall, Williams has visited Georgia last weekend for the South Carolina game.

"It was intense. It was a good game, a really good game," he said.

As a junior, Williams had 60 tackles, 18 sacks and 10 tackles for loss.
