George Brown is definitely a wanted man in recruiting circles, and the Cincinnati Winton Woods two-way lineman is one of Ohio's top 2015 prospects.
Brown, 6-foot-6, 255-pounds, has collected over 30 offers to date. He has taken several unofficial visits over the past year in an attempt to learn more about his top schools. He visited Clemson for a second time Saturday.
"The Clemson visit went great," Brown stated. "It was good to be able to check out a game on this trip. It was a great atmosphere and I really had a great time. They really played well on both sides of the football, which was good to see."
"They have a great quarterback coming in next year, so I think their offense is going to be good for the next few years," he added. "They won't be having any down years at all. I've been to great places like Georgia and Florida, and Clemson ranks right up there with anywhere I've been before."
The Clemson coaching staff also made themselves available to Brown and his father, something they appreciated.
"I spoke with most of the coaches and they told me they want me at defensive end," he explained. "It really doesn't matter to me where I play, because I just want to get on the field the quickest. Their coaches are really down to earth, and great guys. My dad and I liked them a lot. I also spoke with Tajh Boyd before the game, which was very cool."
"I was there before for camp, but this visit was a lot different for me," he continued. "The campus is beautiful and I love the traditions of the program, especially the players running down the hill. That was really exciting to see. Clemson is up there very high for me and I will consider them strongly going forward. I can see myself playing there, and I want to come back here again some time."
Brown has a few more schools he wants to visit over the coming months, although only one is scheduled at this time.
"I might go somewhere this coming weekend, but I need to check with my dad about that," Brown said. "The only other visit that is set up is us going to Michigan State for their game with Michigan in November. I'm also talking to both Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State about getting to a game this year."
"I'm supposed to call Notre Dame this week," he reported. "If Notre Dame offers me I will probably set up a visit to see their program. I've been talking to Michigan about visiting, while my dad has been talking to Urban Meyer at Ohio State. I'm going to cut my list down before next summer to around ten schools."
