Two standing out for Ratliff

MATTHEWS, N.C. - Anthony Ratliff is one of the top 2015 quarterbacks in the country. He spoke with FOX Sports Next about the latest developments in his recruitment.

Anthony Ratliff is having a great season.

The four-star quarterback already has scholarship offers from Clemson, Georgia State, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Toledo and UNC-Charlotte.

However, those are not the only schools showing interest in the Butler star.

"Oregon, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Missouri, East Carolina, Tennessee are some of the other schools recruiting me," said the 6-foot-2, 185-pound Ratliff.

Ratliff said two schools have been pursuing him hardest.

"Carolina and Clemson have been recruiting me the hardest," he said. "They're standing out early because they have showed that they're really interested. And they always want me on campus or at games."

He explained what he likes about each school.

"Clemson, I like the coaching staff," he said "(Offensive coordinator) coach (Chad) Morris and (tight ends) coach (Danny) Pearman – they're great coaches and cool to be around. I also like their fast-paced offense. They score a lot of points and win games.

"Carolina, they just put in what they call "The Fed Spread" and just watching on the field – it's great. Coach (Larry) Fedora and (wide receivers) coach (Gunter) Brewer – they're two great coaches. I also like the fans at Carolina. They have amazing fans that are dedicated."

As for visits, Ratliff said his next trip will likely be to Ohio State or Michigan. He also mentioned a possible visit North Carolina.

While recruiting is important, Ratliff is focused on helping his team repeat as state champions.

"That's the main goal," he said. "We can't get complacent and we need to practice hard every week. We have to stay focused."

Butler is 5-2 and host Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park on Friday at 7 p.m. Top Stories
