Coach Cheese's nephew

Charlie Harbison coached defensive backs in two different stints at Clemson. He now holds that title at Auburn. His nephew, Tre, is a 2016 running back prospect.

Tre Harbison received his first scholarship offer a little over a month ago.

"I have an offer from North Carolina," he said. "It felt really good and it kind of surprised me how it came so fast. It made me want to work even harder, though."

Harbison visited Chapel Hill over the summer.

"I went to their elite camp over the summer and I met the coaches," he said. "I like the coaches and the campus. I'm going to go back and visit soon."

Another ACC school has been showing a significant amount of interest.

"I've been to a couple of Clemson games and I've been in contact with them a lot lately," said the 5-foot-11, 205-pound Harbison, who has also visited Virginia Tech.

He was at Clemson for the Florida State game.

"My uncle used to coach there, so I'm pretty familiar with Clemson," he said. "I really like the atmosphere. It's a one of a kind thing – them rubbing the rock and running down the hill. It's really interesting."

Along with the aforementioned schools, a few others are showing interest.

"I'm also hearing from Tennessee and Virginia Tech," Harbison said. "And earlier in the year Kansas State and Michigan were showing a little bit of interest, too."

Which school will be the next to offer?

"I think Clemson or Tennessee could be the next school to offer because those are the two schools showing the most interest besides Carolina," he said.

As for the rest of the season, Harbison only has one visit scheduled.

"I'm supposed to visit Tennessee for the Auburn game on Nov. 9," Harbison said.

Crest is 9-1 and Harbison said the Chargers are focused on having a strong finish to the season.

"Our main goals are to try to get better every signal day at practice and try to win a state championship," he said.

"We have all the talent, but we just have to continue to come together and play as a team."

Crest plays their final regular season game this Friday on the road against Shelby.
