Ready his official

After rolling through the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record, Chris Register and his Dudley High School teammates are ready to make a run in the playoffs.

Dudley opens play in the 4-A race with a home game against South Caldwell High School. The Panthers' defense, which has given up just 62 points during the regular season, had three shutouts during the regular season.

As impressive as Register and his mates on that side of the ball have been in the 2013, he likes what he's seen from his future teammates down in Clemson.

"They've done pretty good. Except for the Florida State game…they let big plays get away from them," Register said.

The four-star prospect was in Clemson for both the Georgia and Florida State games. He'll return later this month for The Citadel game. Set to enroll early at Clemson, that will be Register's official visit.

"I just want to see what the players are like on game day," he said. "I'm just going down there to have a good time."

Register, who's already signed his financial aid agreement papers, won't be the only official visitor that weekend. Deshaun Watson, Demarre Kitt and Kyrin Priester are all scheduled to be in town. So is Raekwon McMillan.

"I'm already getting ahead school-wise for my classes," Register said. "Football-wise, I want to get down there and go ahead and get ahead, get in the coaches' office, studying up and getting the plays down, getting physically ready for college ball."

His goal for 2014 is simple.

"Just get some playing time. I'm going to work my tail off to get in there," Register said.
