OLB Chris Register Profile
The two Greensboro area juniors were in Clemson last month for The Citadel game as official visitors.
Register, who attends Dudley High School, spoke with CUTigers about his buddy, who goes to school at nearby Page High School.
"We talk about if he comes that we'd be roommates and stuff like that," Register said.
How are Clemson's chances at landing Featherston?
"I feel like we've got a good chance," Register said.
The No. 25 outside linebacker in the class of 2014 also weighed in on his official visit.
"I mean, it was pretty much the same. It was like a regular visit to me I've been there so many times," he said.
Register added, "After you've been somewhere so many times, you're just having regular conversations when you go."
By this time next month, he'll be in Clemson for good. But his concern is elsewhere.
"Right now, the most exciting thing going on for me is the state championship game on Saturday. I'm not even thinking about Clemson right now," Register said.
Dudley is 14-0. They play Scotland County in the 4-A state championship next weekend.
"It's like a dream season. We just want to finish it out by getting a ring," Register said.
A two-way player for the Panthers, Register mans the middle at linebacker and plays tight end on the offensive side of the ball.
"I don't really keep up with my stats. I just play. The most important thing to me is winning. I don't really keep up with stats," Register said.
