RB Eric Swinney Profile
Ranked by Scout.com as the No. 18 running back in the class of 2015, Swinney is a 5-foot-10, 190-pound prospect with offers from across the ACC and SEC, including Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, UNC, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
"I was confident it was coming, because Dabo Swinney came [to the school]. The running back coach [Tony Elliott] came the day before they offered me," Swinney recently told CUTigers. "I kind of knew they were ready."
Clemson hasn't hosted him for a visit. Not yet.
"I probably will, because Demarre is going in January," Swinney said.
But he has seen the Tigers play on TV.
"I've watched them play a couple of games. I like Clemson's kind of offense. They get their running backs in space and everything. I like Clemson's offense," Swinney said.
Swinney made a few campus visits this fall, including Georgia, Auburn and Ole Miss. Even though he's made stops at several of the schools that have offered, Swinney has no list of favorites.
"It is kind of early. I'm just going through my recruiting process right now," he said.
A couple of factors will be considered as he moves through the process.
"If I can get early playing time, if I feel comfortable," he said.
As a junior, Swinney rushed for 1,149 yards and 22 touchdowns on 137 carries. As a sophomore, he had 1,350 yards and 21 touchdowns on 151 carries.
