Clemson offers Virginia DE

Late last week, Clemson defensive ends coach Marion Hobby sent an offer out to this three-star defensive end from Virginia Beach.

Salem High School junior Trevon Hill was on the receiving end of that Clemson offer.

"Friday, my coach told me about it. He was like, when they came down, they liked my size. He said they watched film on me and [Hobby] called him. He loved me and he wanted to offer me," Hill told CUTigers over the weekend.

Hill and Hobby spoke after Hobby stopped by the school.

"He was just like, ‘Your coach has told me a lot of good things about you. I hope I'm not disappointed, because I made this seven-hour trip. So far, I haven't been disappointed with your size.' Then, he was like, ‘I'm going to watch your film and evaluate you.' When he watched my film, he offered me a spot," Hill said.

Though Hill has not been down to Clemson for a visit yet, he's familiar with the program.

"I know they put a lot of good d-linemen in the league, well people in the league, period. But especially d-linemen and people on defense in the league," Hill said. "They play hard-nosed football all around, offense and defense."

This fall, UNC, Duke and Old Dominion hosted him for visits. He's already got plans to return to Chapel Hill and Durham in 2014.

Clemson, Duke, UNC, Virginia and Virginia Tech have offered.

As a junior, Hill had 16 sacks. Top Stories
