Semper Fi: Milan Richard

Clemson commitment Milan Richard is excited to be in California for the Semper Fi All-American Bowl.

Milan Richard is soaking it all in. This three-star tight end prospect from Savannah (Ga.) Calvary Baptist Day School is a Semper Fi All-American. He just landed in Los Angeles, Calif. and is ready to make a national splash this week.

"I am trying to take this all in," Richard said. "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. That's how I am looking at it. There will be a lot of competition and competition likes this brings out the best in everyone."

Richard, 6-foot-2, 233-pounds, is headed to Clemson. He picked the Tigers back in early May and hasn't looked back.

"It came down to the coaching staff, the offense and the family atmosphere there on campus," Richard said. "I love that system and they are going to utilize me well and what I do."

It's his physical traits and strengths as a player that should make him another weapon for the Clemson offensive attack.

"I just can't wait to get there. I am ready to learn," Richard said. "I am the type of guy that can stretch the field and come down and be physical."

Richard knows that coach Dabo Swinney is building something special at Clemson.

"They come so close," Richard said. "Each year they take another step. They are knocking on the door and pretty soon they are going to bust it down."

Richard also has some famous bloodlines. His uncle, Herschel Walker, is one of the greatest college players of all time.

"People used to ask me about that all the time but not so much anymore," Richard said. "He did give me a little advice about recruiting. He told me to do what's best for me. And that's exactly what I did. I knew it was going to be my decision and it was my decision to go to Clemson." Top Stories
