On Saturday, three-star offensive tackle Austin Clark picked up an offer from Clemson. Defensive coordinator Brent Venables passed along the news to the 2015 prospect.

After two weeks of contact, Clemson threw its hat into the ring with Ohio State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and others from the ACC and SEC.

"I talked to coach Venables earlier in the week on Facebook. I gave him a call and we talked. He said they just really loved my film and they really wanted me, I'm what they're looking for in an offensive tackle," Clark told CUTIgers, earlier this week.

"So, he went to make sure my grades and everything checked out. He gave my coach a call and I got an offer on Saturday."

The Rockbridge County High School [Lexington, Va.] was happy to hear the news.

"It's definitely a place that I've always wanted an offer from," he said.

Clark will make his first visit to Clemson on for the Feb. 1 Junior Day.

"I'm just looking forward to seeing more into what Clemson has to offer," he said. "I've seen everything on TV -- they rub the rock before the game, so I'm looking forward to seeing what Clemson has to offer, and the coaches."

Last fall, Clark attended games at Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Duke and Penn State.

"Right now, the Clemson visit is the one for sure that I know I'm going [on], but I'm also planning to go see Ohio State, Tennessee and Penn State," he said.

Who leads?

"I really don't have any favorites right now. If I had to say the ones that are recruiting me the hardest, I'd have to say, probably, Ohio State, Tennessee, Penn State and Clemson."
