Tigers in lead group for 4-star CB

Garrett Taylor has established himself as one of the top cornerbacks in the 2015 class. The four-star prospect spoke with Scout.com about the latest developments in his recruitment.

"Wisconsin just offered me," said Garrett Taylor. "I have 22 offers now."

"I'm definitely interested in them. It's a school that fits all the criteria I'm looking for – great school, great academics and a great football program. It's going to make my decision even harder"

Taylor is in the process of narrowing his list of schools.

"I'm starting to figure out what schools I want to take off the list, but I want to tell coaches directly," Taylor said. "Right now, the plan is narrow it down to 15 this spring because I'm still interested in some schools that haven't offered. So I want to see what happens between now and then."

According to Taylor, two schools that appear closest to offering are USC and Florida State.

The St. Christopher's star knows some schools that will make the cut.

"Stanford, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Ohio State, Clemson and Virginia Tech will make the list," he said. "Stanford, Virginia Tech, Clemson and Ohio State have really impressed me."

Now that his season is over, Taylor is focused on taking some trips.

"I'm going to try to visit Ohio State, Wisconsin, Stanford and USC," he said. "I'll also probably try to get to Clemson, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech."

He has a timetable for a decision.

"In a perfect world, I would like to narrow it down to five before the season starts," Taylor said. "After that, I'm going to take my five official visits. More than likely, I'll make my decision sometime between early and mid-December.

"I'm looking for a school that has a good balance of academics and athletics. I want to go to a school that will prepare me for the next level and give me strong education to fall back on if football doesn't work out."
