QUOTEBOARD: Clemson 61 WF 53

CLEMSON - With well over a month left in the season, Clemson has matched its win total from last season. But getting to No. 14 won't be easy.

Five out of the Tigers' next six games are on the road. The first three are away from Littlejohn.

Clemson hits the road on Tuesday to play at Pittsburgh, who they're tied with for second-place in the league. The following Sunday, they'll head to Chapel Hill. After that is a visit to Florida State.

Brad Brownell showed no interest in discussing the stretch before Saturday's 61-53 win over Wake Forest.

"A lot of teams have grinders where they have three out of four on the road at some point," he said. "I don't know that there are many five out of sixes. I checked the schedule for most of the teams in the league and didn't see a lot out of five out of sixes.

"Having said that, it's just what it is. We're going to have to find a lot of grit. We're going to have to show a lot of toughness and maturity. We're going to have to play exceptionally well to come out of this well."

K.J. McDaniels, who scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, thinks highly of the Panthers.

"Pittsburgh, they're a great team. I've been watching them the most. I feel like I know their plays pretty well," he said. "Just going on the road, it will be a great experience for us to face that kind of competition."

More quality play from Adnois Filer

"Adonis is most definitely the most energetic guy on the team. In practice, he gets us up when we're down. He talks as soon as he comes in the gym. Adonis does a great job of talking to everybody. He's teaching me, as a matter of fact, just be more talkative." - McDaniels

"He's done a good job. He's an improving player. His turnovers have been down, which is good, and we're trying to get him to be more efficient. He's learning that you don't always need to make home run plays, but rather hit singles and doubles. If he can do that consistently, he'll put together a good inning. He's getting better at understanding that and just goes out and makes solid plays that are there. He's got a herky-jerky game and can get by you and is good in small spaces, which allows him to have good angles on shots in the paint." - Brownell

"Adonis is a great breakdown player. I feel like he's one of the best 1-on-1 players in the league. To have him out there doing that is a relief. If he misses, I'll be there to get the rebound for him." - McDaniels

Big minutes from Ibrahim Djambo

"I'm really happy [for him]. I've been saying he's a much better shooter than his stats show. He's a new guy who's trying to figure it out." - Brownell

"They're always telling me you don't know when you're number will be called, so just be ready every time. That's what I'm trying to do in my mind." - Djambo

"We need Ibby. There's a time to step up. He was great." - McDaniels

The 4-1 start in ACC play

"We're off to a good start and we're playing well. But it's a long distance race and we have some tough games coming up with five of our next six games on the road. But we've been opportunistic and found some ways to win some close games." - Brownell

"We just have to stay mature. We're not going to get cocky or anything." - McDaniels
