The three-star prospect from McAdory High School in McCalla, Ala. took officials to Florida and Florida State during the fall. Thomas will head to Mississippi State next weekend before heading to Tennessee at the end of the month.

He spoke with CUTigers on Monday night about his trip to Tigertown.

"I think it was a great experience for me to get my mom up there to see it, for a better look," Thomas said.

What did they do during the trip?

"We went to coach Swinney's house, we went out to eat, I hung out with the players for the night, spent time with some of the commits."

What stood out about the visit?

"The biggest thing was how much Clemson was a family. I really like the meaning of all in, let me put it to you that way. It's a family environment. Everybody is close."

Thomas spent time with several of the Tigers' 2014 commitments, including Jabril Robinson, Jae'lon Oglesby and Korie Rogers. His player host was Kevin Dodd.

The 6-foot-6, 270-pound senior has decided to make his decision next month, despite his pledge to Tennessee.

"My final decision will be on signing day," he said.

There is one factor that will be considered more than any other.

"I would say I'm very big on family, whoever I feel the most comfortable around, me being a family with," Thomas said.
