Williams has a "tough" decision

Andrew Williams is all but officially down to two schools. A couple other schools are hanging around, but in the odds are that he will be a Tiger come signing day...

Auburn received an official visit from Andrew Williams the weekend of January 17.

AU is one of the top schools for Williams and he said the visit went "very well".

Ellis Johnson, the Tigers' defensive coordinator visited Williams earlier in the week and his defense is one thing that stands out about Auburn.

"I really like Coach Johnson's coaching scheme and how he coaches," said Williams. "He really changed the defense and the new staff changed the team in one year.

"That, the history at Auburn, the tradition there, and the family-like atmosphere is what has Auburn high on my list."

The Tigers in the ACC are right there with Auburn and that will likely be the next school Williams visits with the Ole Miss visit no longer on for this weekend.

"I really like Clemson for the same reasons I like Auburn," said Williams. "Their season did not go exactly like Auburn's, but they had a good season.

"I really like the coaches there and all the history Clemson has too. Clemson and Auburn are a lot alike."

Odds are high at this time that come February 5, the four-star rush end out of McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing Christian Academy will be a Tiger, but a few others are hanging around.

"Georgia is really coming at me hard now since Jeremy Pruitt took over their defense and Ole Miss and Tennessee are schools I still think about too.

"The only official visit I have scheduled now is to Clemson on January 31. I might go take an unofficial visit to Georgia, but I am not sure yet."

Williams did not come out and say he had a top two, but he said, "It is really close right now for me."

He is leaning towards a signing day decision right now.

"I think I will announce my decision and sign with my teammates at school on signing day," Williams said. "It is going to be a very tough decision. I wish I already knew where I was going, but I don't. These next couple of weeks are important."
