Morris, Scott see 4-star QB

Chad Morris and Jeff Scott were back in South Florida last week to see Torrance Gibson, the four-star QB from Heritage High School in Plantation.

The Clemson offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator stopped by Heritage on Friday to see the prospect that Scout.com lists as the No. 3 ranked quarterback in the class of 2015.

Heritage is also home to 2015 four-star defensive back Tavarus McFadden and 2016 wide receiver Dredrick Snelson, who picked up a Clemson offer on Friday.

Morris and Gibson have been in contact recently.

"He just said that [I'll] love Clemson, the atmosphere, just the whole program and the offense. He said I'm going to love it when I take a visit there," Gibson told CUTigers, over the weekend.

A visit to Clemson could be in the works.

"I'm working on this summer," Gibson said.

He hopes that's not his only visit of the summer.

"I'm trying to go up to Ohio, go up to the north and work my way down," Gibson said. "Just go to Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson, I hope, all the Florida teams that have offered me, and just keep working down."

In addition to Clemson, Ohio State, Miami, Florida State, Georgia, Pittsburgh and UMass have also been by the school during the current recruiting period. Tennessee is scheduled to stop by on Wednesday.

Gibson has no list of favorites.

"Academics, coaching staff, campus life and just the great football program," he said, when asked to list the factors he'll be considering before narrowing down his list.

As a junior, Gibson rushed 105 times for 1,032 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also completed 89 of 158 passes for 1,864 yards with 19 touchdowns and three interceptions.
