Clemson offers Scout300 LB

It wasn't that long ago that Jordan Colbert had zero scholarship offers . After getting his first late in the fall, he has picked up three more early in 2014...

North Carolina first offered Jordan Colbert back in November and that got his recruitment started.

After that, Georgia Tech pulled the trigger just a a couple weeks later.

It took a little while for offer three to arrive, but once it did, four and five came with it.

"I have picked up offers from Louisville, Clemson, and Auburn," said Colbert. "All were kind of surprising to me, all good surprises."

Auburn is the most recent to offer , but all came in a matter of days. The 6-foot-3, 200 pound junior out of Griffin, Ga. has been to AU before.

"I have been there for a few games and I really like it over there. I like the people, the coaches are great, and it is always a fun atmosphere there."

The four-star outside linebacker knows a little more about Auburn than Clemson and Louisville, but he has interest in those two schools too.

"Coach [Mike] Reed (Defensive backs) wants to get me up to visit Clemson and I would like that. I have watched Clemson on T.V. and I know it is a good program, so I would like to check it out.

"Louisville really surprised me because I had never even received a letter from them yet. Coach [Todd] Grantham (Defensive coordinator) came down to the school and offered me. I know he likes to blitz and I want to learn more about Louisville ."

Alabama recently invited Colbert to visit, Ole Miss has shown a lot of interest, and Missouri could be next to offer.

The school that offered first may have a slight advantage, but it is not what it once was.

"North Carolina is up there right now," said Colbert. "I have a real good connection with Coach Kap (Chris Kapilovic - Offensive line) and we get along great. He really seems to care about me and I like that.

"I am getting more offers now, so I just want to keep my options open. I grew up a huge Georgia fan and it was my dream school, but I have kind of backed off that now.

"I like UNC, but I like Auburn and other schools too. I am just open really right now."

Cobert is the No. 20-ranked outside linebacker in the 2015 class on Scout. Top Stories
