South Florida WR has a leader

Clemson is among the most recent offers for one of the top wide receivers from South Florida in the class of 2016.

WR Dredrick Snelson Profile

Plantation High School quarterback Torrance Gibson picked up his offer from Clemson last April. Chad Morris offered his teammate, sophomore wide receiver Dredrick Snelson, last week.

"My coach put me on the phone with coach Morris and he was just talking to me how he wants me and Torrance to come up there on a visit. He offered me and said he wanted to keep them in mind," Snelson told CUTigers, during an interview over the weekend.

That won't be a problem. Clemson will receive heavy consideration from the 5-foot-11, 190-pound prospect.

"Clemson is my favorite school," he said.

The Tigers are up top for a number of reasons.

"I like the way they use their receivers. I feel like they fit me," Snelson said. "I've looked at the campus, I liked that. As far, with Sammy Watkins, I just like how they used him. That's what I would be able to play when I get there."

In addition to Clemson, Miami, UCF, Purdue, Cincinnati, Nebraska and Wisconsin have offered. The Tigers' offer caught him a bit off guard.

"I was surprised, because I thought they were going to offer me later in the summer time, because I didn't really have enough to get an offer, but I guess I did. They liked my size and they'd seen me play before, so I like it," Snelson said.

Florida State, Tennessee, Texas and Florida have also expressed interest in Snelson.

As a sophomore, he caught 12 passes for 320 yards with four touchdowns.
